One loop, every tank. Treat the water on the way back.
In a closed loop, one infected tank can reach every tank. UV-C sterilizers and ozone generators treat the water before it returns. Below: what each does, where it sits and how to choose.

Two ways to treat the water.
Sterilisator UV
Generator ozon
Clear water first, then treatment.
Disinfection works best on clear water. Particles shield pathogens from UV light (), so drum filters and skimmers come first. UV sits on the return line just before the water goes back to the fish. Ozone goes on a side stream, usually through a protein skimmer, and reacts before the water returns.Aquaculture International, 2018

Dense, marine and shrimp systems
Many systems use both. In a USDA study, ozone ahead of UV cut bacteria counts to under 1 per ml across the full flow and improved the water’s UV transmittance ().USDA ARS
Disinfection is not a cure.
Treats only the water passing through
Biosecurity at intake, new stock and equipment
Does not treat fish already infected
Diagnosis and treatment with your vet
Does not reach pathogens on surfaces
Tank and pipe cleaning between batches
UV dose falls as lamps age and water clouds
Lamp schedule and solids removal
For many farms, yes. Dense, marine and shrimp systems often add ozone for organics and colour.
UV treats the water passing the lamps. The biofilter bacteria live on the media, not in the water flow.
It can if residual oxidant reaches it. That is why ozone goes on a side stream with ORP control.
Yes. Our UV sterilizers use UPVC housing.
Yes, with care. In seawater ozone forms longer-lasting bromine oxidants, so the dose is lower and residual oxidant is checked.
Ozone, on a side stream with a skimmer, then UV on the return line.
Send your flow. We size disinfection for the loop.
Return flow, peak daily feed, species and salinity. We recommend UV, ozone or both, and size them.
